Pat Kenny and Andrea Gilligan have a lot to celebrate at Newstalk, as they both received the biggest boost in listeners in 2024.
The latest JNLR listenership figures for the 12 months to the end of December 2024 were released at midday today, and it was good news for them both.
The pair have both seen an impressive increase in listeners in 2024 compared to 2023.

The Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk retains its dominance as the most popular show on commercial radio, according to the latest JNLR results.
Pat’s unique blend of news, politics, debate and entertainment now attracts 237,000
daily listeners – an increase of 21,000 compared to 2023.
Across Ireland, Newstalk’s national market share stands at a robust 8.4% at a time when
more than 3.4million all adults are tuning into Irish radio each week.
Snapping on the heels of its competitors, Newstalk now has a weekly reach of 871,000 and is the second most listened to radio station in the country every day with 512,000 listeners – both an increase from the last report.
Newstalk has seen both its daily and weekly reach increase by over 30,000 compared to this time last year.
Meanwhile, 165,000 listeners tune in daily to Newstalk Breakfast with Ciara Kelly and Shane Coleman to get a head start on the day with up-to-date news, expert analysis and energetic conversation.
Andrea Gilligan’s Lunchtime Live continues to prove a hit with listeners as the show maintains its impressive growth to reach a record high audience of 139,000.
The unique offering from The Moncrieff Show has seen its audience grow by 6,000 (BoB) to 112,000 while Kieran Cuddihy on The Hard Shoulder maintains a strong audience of 150,000 as he brings a mix of news, entertainment and features to ease the commute home.
