Netflix has announced that a new series will be filmed in Ireland.
Vikings: Valhalla, a new original series from creator Michael Hirst, will be filmed in Wicklow.
The story continues on from the creator’s beloved Vikings series.
The new series will be filmed at Ashford Studios in Wicklow.
The new show begins 100 years after the original one finished up.
It follows the tales of famous Vikings Leif Erickon, Freydis, Harald Harada and Norman King William the Conqueror.
The original Vikings was also shot at Ashford between 2012 and 2018.

“I know that the millions of our fans across the globe will be thrilled by the belief being shown in our show by MGM and Netflix.”
