Day 2 of National Ploughing Championship CANCELLED after stormy weather conditions hit the country

The National Ploughing Championship has been cancelled after stormy weather conditions hit the country.

Storm Ali has ripped through the country this morning and forced the cancellation of the annual Ploughing Championship.

The event was originally delayed by two hours, but organisers have now announced that it has been officially called off due to public safety concerns.

Almost 100,000 people attended the event yesterday, according to RTÉ.

There have been reports that tents and portaloos on the site have been blown over due to the strong winds.

It is unknown whether the championship will continue on for its third day, as Storm Ali is set to come to an end in Ireland this evening.
