Nadine Coyle 'lucky to be alive' after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning in LA home

Nadine Coyle has opened up about leaving her LA home after she suffered carbon monoxide poisoning.

The singer, who shared the home with her daughter Anaiya and partner Jason Bell , admitted she only found out about the poisoning after she became sick.

“I was renting a house in LA, you don’t really notice it – you’re like, ‘I’m really tired, is it with all the flying around, is it jet lag, am I getting sick, why am I so tired all the time?'” she said.

“Then you would forget simple things, we couldn’t remember the word for table. And it was the chest pains, I felt like I couldn’t breathe.

“So I went to the doctors and I thought there was something seriously wrong, and they checked for everything and said, ‘You’re fine’, and I said, ‘This still doesn’t explain why I feel so bad’,” she told Good Morning Britain.

“Then when the blood tests came back, they said it was exposure to high levels of gas, but still hadn’t said it was carbon monoxide.”

Opening up about the terrifying incident, the Girls Aloud star said the problem only came to her attention when by chance someone came to check her boiler.

“It just happened to be someone was coming round [to look at the boiler], it was so lucky. [We were told] immediately, everybody needs to get out, everybody needs to be out the house,” she said.

The mum-of-one has urged other families to fit gas alarms in their home to prevent accidental poising.

“These are crucially important, I have 3 of them now placed in different places. It’s very, very scary and it’s really serious,” she added.
