Nadia Forde: ‘I started modelling because of my nana’

Nadia Forde has admitted that her grandmother is to thank for her modelling success.

The model, who recently moved over to Japan with her rugby player boyfriend Dominic Day after he was signed to Japanese club Toyota Verblitz, revealed that she wouldn’t be where she is today without her nana.

“It’s all because of my nana!” the 27-year-old said.

The brunette beauty revealed that she was scouted when they were out communion dress shopping.

“We were shopping for my communion dress, so I was about seven years old,” she told the Sunday Indo Living.

“The lady who owned the shop asked my nan if I could be part of her photoshoot in her shop ads (store windows and a spread in Social & Personal magazine).

Nadia’s nan agreed she could do the photoshoot and from there it took off.

“My nana agreed and from that job I got an agency and that was it.

“I used to model a couple of times a year… all throughout school and then I signed with Assets at 16.

“It was a great way to pay for my singing and dance classes so I enjoyed modelling at that age. It was like playing dress-up,” she added.
