Nadia Forde has been unable to trust men since she was eight – after her dad ran off with another woman.
The I’m A Celeb star has been traumatised after father Stephen walked out on her mum and family when she was a kid.
And Nadia’s grandmother Bernie, who then took over raising her, believes the breakdown of her parents’ marriage still leaves her with trust issues.

She said: “Nadia still bears the scars and always worries that someone could leave her again. That’s why she doesn’t trust men easily.
“She could never understand why her parents never put her and her brother first. What happened to her as a child really affected her.”
The 69-year-old said she believes Nadia, who has been linked to Jake Quickenden on the ITV show, isn’t looking for love right now.
Bernie said that the 25-year-old’s only serious relationship was with DJ Mark Noble, who she split from three years ago.

She added: “She finds it hard to trust guys because she was hurt by her dad leaving. She now holds back a lot and doesn’t want to jump into a relationship.
“A man has to be very special for her to be interested or to commit. She has had a serious relationship but that ended amicably nearly three years ago.
“Since then she has been on dates but has been concentrating on her singing career.”
Now Bernie told the Sunday People she hopes that Nadia may be able to properly reconcile with her mum Berenice – after getting back in touch when finding out she had cancer.

She said: “Nadia flew from London to Dublin to be at her bedside. I’m not sure what they said to each other, because Nadia went straight into the jungle afterwards.
“But the good news is that her mum is out of hospital now and seems to be much better, which Nadia will be relieved to know when she comes out of the camp.”
