Muireann O’Connell has admitted losing her job at Today FM has made her nervous about taking time off work.
On Friday, the presenter told her Instagram followers that she’s taking a break from The Six O’Clock Show – but confessed she was “freaking out” about it.
On her Instagram Story, Muireann explained: “I’m just finished work and I’m officially on holidays.”
“I haven’t taken a holiday since last year because I took a holiday last year and then shortly afterwards I was gotten rid of from a job.”
“So psychologically I link the two and I know it’s probably deranged and weird to think that way and I definitely need to see a therapist about it…”
“But unfortunately it is how my brain is so I’m freaking out a little bit.”
Muireann added: “But I’m trying not to and I’m just going to try and enjoy a week of not working, everything’s going to be fine, it’s fine. ”
Muireann was axed from Today FM last July, and replaced by Mairead Ronan.
She now hosts The Six O’Clock Show on Virgin Media full-time, and she also fronted an entertainment programme called The Late Tackle with Greg O’Shea earlier this year.
