Moone Boy actor David Rawle lands tickets to The Oscars

After hunting half of Hollywood for a ticket, Moone Boy star David Rawle managed the impossible and got his way into last nights 87th Oscar ceremony.

The Irish actor voiced the part of Ben in the acclaimed Cartoon Saloon film Song Of The Sea.

The 14-year-old flew out to LA last week in the hopes of getting a ticket to the most exclusive awards ceremony in town and luckily managed to nab one off Cartoon Saloon producer Paul Young.

“I rang and emailed every day. It’s wonderful he is coming with us in the limo,” Paul told the Irish Independent.

20 members of the Kilenny based production team headed to Hollywood for the bash despite only having a total of 10 tickets with them. Those who didn’t make it into the ceremony watched the action play out on the big screen.

Back in Kilkenny, the remaining Cartoon Saloon staff held their own Oscars bash in Bridie’s Bar on John Street.

“We are cheering them on. Just getting the nomination was such a huge achievement. We couldn’t be prouder. The atmosphere is fantastic,” studio manager Catherine Roycroft said.

Presented by How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris, the star studded Oscars ceremony featured performances from Rita Ora, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Hudson.
