Michele McGrath has opened up on her relationship with boyfriend Cathal Pendred and revealed she admires him “so much”.
The aspiring singer is working hard to make her girl group Liir as a success and the MMA star is what spurs her on to keep going.
“Cathal has to train three times a day to maintain his fitness, so that he is ready when he is called upon to compete,” she said.
“I watched Cathal pre-UFC and how hard he worked; that was a little bit of inspiration for me to go and do what I really love.”

“It kind of spurred me on because he had so much belief in his dreams , going after his goals.”
“I admire Cathal so much – you have to be ambitious in this world. I’ve had so many knocks, if you took to heart every knock you would never get out of bed,” she told Sunday World’s Magazine +.
The 28-year-old was hoping for international success with her former pop group Industry but was devastated when it didn’t happen.
“When Industry didn’t work out I was a little bit bruised,” she admitted.

“I had set myself goals: Ii wanted to play the Point, have a number 1 single. I did achieve all those things, but it is hard when you have worked so hard for something and for it to not materialise.”
“It was great in Ireland but it didn’t go beyond Ireland. This time around though, it has never felt so right.”
It comes after Cathal recently announced that he is leaving the UFC.
