Meghan Markle exchanged some touching words with CervicalCheck campaigner Vicky Phelan at a garden party in Glencairn this evening.
Vicky was among 300 guests at the party, which included leading figures from Ireland’s arts, sports, military and social enterprise sectors.
Today FM reporter Stephanie Grogan shared a photo of Vicky at the party, and wrote, “Vicky Phelan met Prince Harry and Meghan this evening. Meghan told her she had been following her story and to keep going.”

Vicky received a false negative test after she went for a cervical smear test back in 2011.
Three years later, she was diagnosed with cancer, and in January 2017, she was informed that she had months to live.
Last April, Vicky was awarded €2.5m in damages in the High Court over the error, and her story had led to the CervicalCheck scandal, which currently involves 209 women.
At the party, Meghan also met writer and activist Sinéad Burke.
Sinead shared a snap of Meghan chatting to her, alongside the caption, “I had the great privilege and pleasure of speaking with Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex this evening about the importance and power of fashion and the opportunities we’ve both been afforded by @OneYoungWorld.”
