Meet the 2019 Miss Ireland winner: Louth student Chelsea Farrell

Last night Chelsea Farrell took home the title of Miss Ireland 2019.

The Miss Louth contestant was passed on the crown from 2018’s winner Aoife O’Sullivan.

The contest was held at The Helix Theater on Dublin City University campus, which played host to the 33 representatives.

Chelsea, from Adree, beat out the other hopefuls on the night. She will go on to represent Ireland on the global stage at Miss World.

The 19-year-old won her Miss Louth accolade back in July.

The student midwife took to Instagram to say she was “over the moon to have been crowned.”

“I never expected my name to be called out as I stood in line with all of these fabulous ladies last night, each and every one of the girls who I shared the stage with are so beautiful both inside and out.”

“I’m so overwhelmed but I am so excited for the year ahead as Miss Ireland.”

“I cannot wait to represent my country in @missworld, and I will continue to do my county, and now my country proud.”

Chelsea is the first Miss Louth to ever win the title.
