Irish star Maura Higgins is speculated to be in the running to replace Caroline Flack on Winter Love Island.

The status of Caroline’s coveted presenting role on the dating series is currently not known, after she was arrested following an alleged assault on her boyfriend this weekend.

Irish model Maura has been tipped by fans to replace Caroline on the winter edition of the show.

The speculation is rife because Maura took to Instagram to share a snap of herself seated in a private jet.

Captioning the snap, she wrote: “Off to the sun to shoot something very exciting…”

Maura’s mysterious hint at filming in the sun has left many followers hopeful that she will take over Caroline’s role.

In the comments section, a follower wrote: “Please be standing in for Caroline Flack.”

“Hopefully she’s the new love island presenter…would be AMAZE£ said another.

“Guess we know who’s hosting the next series of love island then” said a third.

However, Maura is currently signed up to star on the upcoming season of Dancing On Ice, which begins airing on Sunday, January 5th.

With Winter Love Island due to begin at the same time, it is unlikely that Maura would be able to juggle both commitments.
