Maura Higgins’ ex-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard made an awkward appearance on her ITV2 documentary last night.
Maura Higgins: You’re Joking Me! was filmed prior to their split in March, and followed the the 29-year-old as she trained for a Spartan race.
On Wednesday night, viewers awkwardly watched as the former couple enjoyed a romantic rickshaw and champagne date, and heard Maura discuss their “healthy” sex-life.
During the ITV2 documentary, the Love Island star was put through her paces as she prepared to compete in a 5km extreme obstacle course in Twickenham Stadium.
Personal trainer Paul Olima guided Maura through four weeks of intense preparation, including a ballet lesson from 85-year-old Esther Fairfax – who asked the Longford beauty about her sex-life.
Maura, who was dating Curtis at the time, replied: “Yeah, very healthy!”
Maura was also seen cycling her and Curtis to a romantic champagne date in the park.
“Whatever you do I’m proud of you,” Curtis told Maura as they enjoyed the bubbles.
Curtis also reappeared to support his ex-girlfriend just before she began the race, along with some fellow Love Island stars including Chris Taylor and Lucie Donlan.
Maura and Curtis coupled up on last summer’s series of Love Island, but they eventually called time on their romance in March.
Taking to Instagram, Maura told fans: “Curtis and I have made the decision to separate.”
“We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.”
“There is no easy way to get through a break up and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be, and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”
The news comes after Curtis was spotted holidaying with professional dancer Amber Pierson this week – months after they sparked romance rumours.
The 24-year-old is currently on a beachside break in Cornwall with Amber, his brother AJ, and the Strictly Come Dancing star’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen.
The group-of-four have been sharing images and clips of their trip on Instagram – and fans have been speculating whether Curtis and Amber are an item.

However, sources close to Curtis have told The Sun: “Amber and Abbie are best friends. She and Curtis are not together or romantically involved, both are staying in their own individual rooms.”
Their trip comes just months after Amber slammed claims Curtis cheated on Maura Higgins with her.
The professional dancer released a statement, after an anonymous Twitter account alleged they’d seen Curtis and Amber kissing.
She wrote: “I didn’t want to speak out about this, but I feel I have to as I have been receiving a few abusive messages recently regarding what’s been in the papers.”
“To be very clear, Curtis and I have never been together. We are simply friends and dance partners! There are 13 dancers going on tour, and I am one of them.”
“The ‘cheating’ allegations this week are out of the blue and are complete lies. I wanted no part in this but what I will say is Curtis is genuinely a lovely and talented guy, who doesn’t deserve any of this,” she added.
