Matthew MacNabb opens up about his ‘close’ relationship with DWTS partner Laura Nolan

Matthew MacNabb has opened up about his “close” relationship with his Dancing with the Stars partner Laura Nolan.

After their performance last weekend, judge Arthur Gourounlian commented on the “chemistry” between the Love Island star and the Dublin dancer.

Speaking about their relationship, Matthew said: “We’ve really grown close. I think with dancing and stuff, when you’re in this process, it’s so intense.”

“You’re in each other’s pockets 7 days a week, all day. You get emotionally reliant on the person.”

The Downpatrick native also spoke about the incredible support he and Laura have received from the Irish public and their loved ones.

He said: “After Sunday night’s when you’re all buzzing, it’s amazing just to talk to your family, your friends, Laura’s family, and everyone around us.”

Matthew and Laura will perform the Argentinian tango to ‘Rio’ by Duran Duran in the quarter-final this weekend.

After the show finishes up in three weeks time, Matthew has planned to go travelling.

When asked whether he would be travelling solo or with a special someone, the reality star teased: “It’s going to be a two-person trip.”

Matthew recently confirmed he was dating someone he “met through the show”, but refused to name his new love interest.

However, the 27-year-old has told reporters that his mystery woman is “well-known” and from Dublin.

In an interview with the Irish Sun earlier this week, Matthew was asked if his new beau was his DWTS partner Laura.

He replied: “No, no, no. I met my new partner because I was doing DWTS but I’d rather not say anything else as it’s still early days.”
