Mary Byrne is reportedly in talks for the brand new all-star version of The X Factor.

According to the Irish Sun, the former Tesco worker was “astonished” when she was approached by TV bosses this week.

The brand new series will feature some of the X Factor’s most memorable contestants from over the years – including Leona Lewis, Shayne Ward, and Alexandra Burke.

An insider said: “Mary would love to do the X Factor again if only to get to the final which she didn’t get make in 2010.”

“But she knows she would have the battle of her life competing against the likes of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and Shayne Ward.”

It’s believed X Factor: All Stars will air in the first week of December on Virgin Media One.

The Dubliner rose to fame on the 2010 series of The X Factor – alongside the likes of One Direction, Matt Cardle, and Cher Lloyd.

The news comes after Louis Walsh recently confirmed his return to the X Factor judging panel.
