Mary Byrne has revealed that she would never bash the X Factor as she wouldn’t be where she is today without the talent show.
The Dublin native took part on the ITV series in 2010 and finished in the semi-final’s.
“I wouldn’t be here today… if I hadn’t taken The X Factor on. That’s where I got my chance,” she said.

Speaking about the never ending controversies surrounding The X Factor, the singer admitted there would be no point in adding any fuel to the fire.
“I could sit here and tell you loads of different things, but there’s no point,” she told TV Now.
“I’ve never ever been more grateful to be given the chance that The X Factor gave me so I won’t knock The X Factor.”

Mary also revealed that she misses her former mentor Louis Walsh on the show, but is glad we still get a taste of the Irish man in the Cadbury advertisements aired before the show on TV3.
“I do miss the Louis fella off X Factor this year, but I love the fact he is on the advertisements. I have to say hats off to the man.”
