The first episode of TV3’s Blind Date made a huge impression on social media on Sunday night – and now we finally know how many people actually tuned in.

According to the Irish Independent, Blind Date debuted with an average of 266,000 viewers.

The show, which is hosted by comedian Al Porter, reached an audience of over 550,000 viewers across the hour, and was the most popular show for under 45s in its time slot.

The show is using the same format as the original version, which was hosted by the late Cilla Black from 1985 to 2003.

Blind Date airs on TV3 at 9pm on Sunday nights.
