Lucy Kennedy’s future on The Six O’Clock Show is ‘undecided’

Lucy Kennedy has admitted that she’s “undecided” about her future on TV3’s The Six O’Clock Show.

After returning from her maternity leave, the mother-of-three is now focusing on filming her hit series Living With Lucy next month.

However, the brunette revealed that she’s unsure whether she’ll ever rejoin Martin King on the Six O’Clock Show.

“That’s undecided, I wouldn’t be going back there until September anyway because Living with Lucy is all consuming and will take over the whole summer,” she told RSVP.

“We have ten to shoot between now and September so that is about two to three per month. There is also the research, pre-production, voice over, post- production so it will be a lot of work.”

When asked whether she’d consider other opportunities with TV3, she said, “Yes, I would. The plan is to start airing ten Living with Lucy’s in September in the hope that we would do another ten after Christmas, because it does so well for TV3 and there is nothing else like it on telly.

“The ideal scenario would be to do another show once or twice a week, but I don’t know if I could commit to going into TV3 four days a week for The Six O’Clock Show. I’d have to be in TV3 for 4pm which would mean missing two school runs and then not getting home to them [the children] until 7.30pm.

“While it’s not a lot of time during the day, it’s just the wrong time when you are a mum. I like doing the school collection, I think it’s important to be in the car to collect the children and to hear the news. I didn’t have that for a long time and now that I have it, I love it,” she explained.

When asked if she would have any fears leaving such a permanent role with TV3, Lucy said, “None. I have always felt family first and it’s not like I don’t have anything else.”

“I have Living with Lucy which is the second highest-rating show on TV3 so I’m not concerned,” she added.
