Lucy Kennedy has become Aldi’s first Pet Ambassador, after adopting her rescue pup Riley.
The mother-of-three adopted an 11-week-old puppy from Milo’s Mission Rescue last month, admitting the pooch has “changed her family’s life”.
The popular presenter has teamed up with the supermarket and will be chatting with pet experts over the next few months to help other families with their pets.
Lucy said: “I am thrilled to partner with Aldi Ireland to be its first Pet Ambassador. I take huge pride knowing that our first pet is a rescue dog, as I am passionate about supporting the amazing work that people such as Lynne from Milo’s Mission Rescue do.”
“‘Adopt don’t shop’ has become my mantra ever since we put our names down a year ago to adopt a puppy. Riley and I look forward to sharing our ups and downs and hopefully creating a community of like-minded people throughout the year.”
“Over the next few months, I will be talking to pet experts who will hopefully be helping our family and Riley and along the way, along with lots of other families.”
The news comes after Lucy revealed Riley has helped improve her daughter Jess’ stutter.
Sharing a snap of her daughter playing with the pup, the TV personality wrote: “Best Friends ❤️❤️ Jess has a stutter and we’re noticing it less since Riley arrived #animalshelpconfidence.”
Lucy also warned her followers: “I cannot stress this enough though. Be VERY, VERY sure that you are ready for a fury newborn because they are work.”
“We love her completely and utterly but I’ve laughed, cried, panicked… you name it!!! All emotions in the last 10 days and she was partially trained!!!!!”
“I will say though that if you ARE ready, a dog will change your life and your children’s lives for the better.”
