Love Actually star Martine McCutcheon opens up about her Irish roots

Martine McCutcheon has opened up about her Irish roots.

The actress is best known for playing Natalie in the beloved Christmas rom-com Love Actually, and she also famously played Tiffany Mitchell in EastEnders.

Speaking at the launch of the One4all Christmas Campaign this week, Martine revealed both she and her husband Jack McManus have Irish connections.

She said: “We’re an Irish family. Jack’s side of the family are from Limerick, and my side of the family are from Longford and Waterford.”

The 46-year-old said she was looking forward to an Irish Christmas with her family.

She said: “[At Christmas] we get rowdy, we play games, we sing all our favourite songs together. There’s quite a lot of us, so it’s always a big party.”

Martine and Jack tied the knot in 2012, and they renewed their vows in September of this year to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.

The couple are parents to a son named Rafferty, who they welcomed in 2015.

Gushing over her husband, Martine said: “I’m very lucky that my husband Jack is my best friend, my co-manager and co-parent.”

“I think love is the closest thing to magic. We make a great team and I’m very lucky that we get to spend so much time together.”
