Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has blasted Louis Walsh as “sick” for suggesting she could have faked malaria.
The X Factor judge, 31, admits she “really lost faith in humanity” after it was claimed she wasn’t close to death after contracting the disease on a charity trip.
Asked about claims suggesting she may not have had malaria at all, she said: “I think it was Louis Walsh. It’s sick. And it made me question humanity. I really lost faith in humanity for a long time.
Annoyed: Cheryl doesn’t understand why Louis was so mean | ITV
“Not that I care anymore but at the time I was devastated. Sometimes, even now, I hear things about me and think, the person who is writing this, or saying it, you have to be sick in your f***ing head to even conclude that about me.
“I mean who thinks that I sit on X Factor and pretend to cry. You’ve got to be mental.”
The ex-Girls Aloud singer reveals that Louis, 62, has apologised since – but is still annoyed that he was so horrible.
Apology: Louis did say sorry to Cheryl for comments | ITV
She said: “Louis has apologised profusely since. Because when I was on Piers Morgan, they had the top doctor from the tropical diseases unit at the hospital, talking about how poorly I was.
“But Louis wouldn’t have cared to have asked anyone the facts.”
She added to Attitude: “He is what he is. And I accept him for what he is. He’s not somebody I would call tomorrow if I was in a crisis. He’s just Louis.”
