Louis Walsh: ‘Irish Dancing With The Stars couldn’t afford me’

Louis Walsh has admitted that RTE’s Dancing With The Stars wouldn’t have the money to afford him.

The X Factor judge has reportedly been paid £1 million to return to the talent show.

So when asked would he ever join the new RTE show, Louis said they wouldn’t have enough cash.

“They wouldn’t pay me anything because they haven’t got the money,” he said

The Mayo native said he believes there’s no money in Irish TV but does come back to Irish shows if he likes them.

“There’s no money in Irish TV, let’s be honest,” he told Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene on their 2FM show.

“I do [come back to Irish TV] occasionally if I like the show like I did Miriam and The Late Late Show.

“But I do think the show is going to do really well.”

Meanwhile Louis revealed that the X Factor has a host more Irish talent in the competitive show.

“The talent is definitely in Ireland. We got some good people and we got some very big characters.

“It was a good day, they rolled out the green carpet and I’m glad they came out.

“I saw a lot of new faces, people I had never seen before. I think the show is going to be really great this year,” he explained.
