Lisa Cannon has revealed that she has been told to “look my best and keep slim” for work.
The Xpose host hit out at body shaming and admitted that she has previously been warned to look her best for being on TV but didn’t reveal who the advice came from.
Writing in her column for the Irish Sun on Sunday, she said: I’ve been told to always look my best and keep slim. Why? Am I a better presenter because of it? No, I isn’t. I’ve just got a thicker waist and chubbier chockers.”
Lisa tied the knot with Richard Keatley last year and revealed that people have mistakenly thought she was pregnant, leaving her embarrassed.
Referring to Jennifer Aniston’s recent op-ed, she said: “I’ve had people ask me was I pregnant too and it’s bloody awful and embarrassing.”
“Unfortunately, it’s true that we all judge each other on appearance.
“The trend of body shaming and having a warped image of perfection has to stop. Let’s not be women whose worth comes from their dress sizes.”
