Lisa Cannon: ‘My grandmother started her family at 36 – there’s hope for me’

Lisa Cannon has admitted that she hopes to start a family, no matter what age she is.

The former Xpose presenter hopes to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps – who started having children in her late 30s, and went on to be a mother-of-seven.

“Well my grandmother had seven children and she started her family at 36, 37 so there’s hope for me yet,” she said.

“We’ll see how I get on, we’d be blessed with even one.”

“I can only comment for them, because they are my direct friends, and family friends,” she added.

“I think a lot of women live very healthily and go on to have healthy children. Here’s hoping.

“Obviously I understand all the statistics behind it as well – my family are all doctors on my mother’s side – so I’m very aware of what can happen as well.

“But there are also lots of positives and lots of women are having children right up until their mid forties.”

“I’m sure they’ll pick their people soon enough so if I don’t get a phone call I’ll know. But it is lovely to be the favourite to win,” she said.

“At least I could give it a whirl.”
