Laura Whitmore shares hilarious video of her first audition for Pick Me MTV

The competition landed her a presenting role on MTV News

Laura Whitmore has shared a hilarious video of her first audition for Pick Me MTV, which landed her her first major presenting role.

Back in 2008, the Irish beauty competed to become the face of MTV News for MTV Europe.

The 34-year-old ended up winning the competition, after impressing judges Emma Willis, Alesha Dixon and Trevor Nelson.

In the video of her first audition, Laura presented a story about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt – which left the judges in stitches laughing.

She captioned the post: “Today is the 35th anniversary of MTV (it’s only a year older than me!).”

“Here’s a little throwback of my first audition for Pick Me MTV (11 years ago!) which I ended up winning (yea I can’t believe that either) and moving to London.

“It involved props, a timer and lots of ad lib. Still can’t believe that happened. What a judging panel @aleshaofficial @emmawillisofficial @djtrevornelson (sadly no footage of my 7 point turn in a Ford ka with @mrjamesbarnes).”

Laura’s role on MTV News lead her to even bigger presenting gigs, including ITV2’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here NOW!

The Bray native also took part in the 14th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.
