Laura Whitmore has credited a podcast for “saving her relationship” with her husband Iain Stirling.
The couple, who are expecting a child together in 2021, secretly wed in Dublin back in November.
The Irish presenter appeared on the latest episode of Chris and Rosie Ramsey’s podcast Sh**ged Married Annoyed, where she thanked the hosts for their role in easing tensions during a long car journey.
The 35-year-old said: “I was driving last Christmas to Ireland because I’ve got a dog and the dog isn’t allowed on the plane.”
“It’s eight hours to Holyhead and then there’s a boat to Dublin and then three and a half hours to where my mum is.
“So me and Iain were doing that drive and by the end of the drive, we thought, ‘I want to kill you, get out of the car,'” she confessed.
“I said, ‘Let’s just throw on a little bit of Rosie and Chris – S***ged Married Annoyed,’ and you saved our relationship so I want to thank you right now,” the Love Island host said.
Laura added: “We had a lovely giggle. We needed that.”
The Bray native recently shared a first look at her secret wedding to Iain, sharing a snap to Instagram on New Year’s Eve.
She wrote: “A year ago Iain asked me to marry him and we had the most magical, perfect ceremony.
“We loved having it to ourselves. We had been planning the perfect celebration and I will forever be so thankful that’s what we got.”
