Laura Whitmore and Eoghan McDermott walk from Darkness Into Light

Not only did thousands gather across the Emerald Isle this morning at 4:15 for Darkness into Light but across the pond Laura Whitmore and Eoghan McDermott flew the flag for Ireland as they took part in London.

The charity 5k walk, which is run by Pieta House, saw two of Ireland’s biggest TV stars join in the poignant event.

Sharing pics from the walk, Eoghan wrote: “Walked from Darkness into Light for Pieta House suicide and self harm prevention this morning, I also have an awesome friend in @TheWhitmore”.

Thanking his friend for her unwavering support, the Voice of Ireland co-host has previously been candid about his own struggles with mental health.

The duo wrapped up well for the pre-dawn walk in their charity yellow t-shirts and even had the pleasure of having Laura’s new pet pooch, Mick Jagger, join them for the great cause.

However, they weren’t the only familiar names who took part in the charity walk as TV3 weatherman Deric Hartigan, former Cork Hurler Conor Cusack and Dublin GAA star Ger Brennan joined the worthwhile event here on home soil.
