Kerry Katona has responded to Vogue Williams’ comment about her marriage to ex-husband Brian McFadden, which Vogue admitted made her feel “sick in her mouth”.
Vogue spoke about her former relationship in an episode of her podcast Spencer & Vogue with her current husband Spencer Matthews, where she said of her marriage to Brian: “Sometimes I forget it ever happened. Let’s bin that one – it makes me feel a little bit sick in my mouth.”
Now, Brian’s other ex-wife Kerry has defended the former Westlife star – who she shares two daughters with.
“I have children with the man so I’d never slag him off like that – and her saying that did make me feel a bit sad for my girls,” she wrote in her column for new! magazine.
“The truth is, I get where Vogue’s coming from – none of us are ever proud of our exes, but she shouldn’t diss him.
“If Vogue hadn’t met Brian, no one would know who she is today. She wouldn’t be a celeb, she wouldn’t have met her now-husband Spencer Matthews and she wouldn’t be making those comments.
“Some respect for Brian please! He’s not my best mate, but I don’t think she should have said that!”
Kerry and Brian tied the knot in 2002, before divorcing four years later.
Brian and Vogue got married in 2012, before deciding to call it quits three years later.
Announcing their shocking split back in 2015, the former couple shared a statement on Twitter.
They wrote: “It is with sadness that Brian and I have made the tough decision to go our separate ways… We will always care about each other, remain friends and wish each other all the very best for the future.”
Vogue is now happily married to Spencer and share two children, Theodore and their newborn daughter Gigi – who they welcomed in July.
Meanwhile, Kerry announced on Monday that she was engaged to Ryan Mahoney after two years of dating.
