Kendall Jenner has been forced to apologise after a quote she made regarding modelling received huge backlash.
The 22-year-old recently did an interview with Love Magazine where she made a statement regarding selective modelling.
She told the publication: “Since the beginning we’ve been super selective about what shows I would do. I was never one of those girls who would do like 30 shows a season or whatever the f**k those girls do. More power to ‘em. But I had a million jobs, not only catwalks but everything else.”
Kendall was heavily criticised online after her comment was released, with many models stating that the 22-year-old didn’t have to work her way up in the industry and that she is one of the few models who could afford to be ‘selective’ in her career.
Victoria’s Secret model, Jac Jagaciak, took to social media to express her views on Kendall’s comment: “This makes me so angry. So disrespectful to literally 99% of people in the industry — yes, they had to work their way up. Please get in touch with the real world!”
“Whatever the f**k those girls do’ is do their very best to make their way up AND try to make some money so that they can provide for themselves and their families. Oh, and it’s 70 shows a season by the way and we are all fucking proud of every single one of the girls that did it,” model, Daria Strokous, wrote on Instagram.
The young model was forced to apologise on Twitter after the huge backlash, stating that she didn’t mean any disrespect to anyone in the industry.
Kendall praised models for working incredibly hard and still making their jobs look “effortless and beautiful.”
She also stated that her words in the interview were twisted and taken out of context.
I was misrepresented in a recent interview over the wknd & it’s important to clarify the meaning. It was intended to be entirely complimentary but unfortunately, my words were twisted & taken out of context.I want to be clear. The respect that I have for my peers is immeasurable!

I get to experience first hand their tireless commitment, their work ethic, the endless days, the lack of sleep, separation from family and friends, stress of traveling, the toll on physical and mental health, yet they still make it all look effortless and beautiful.
