Kathryn Thomas has revealed that motherhood is “overwhelming”, but “completely magical”.
The TV presenter and her fiancé Padraig McLoughlin welcomed their first child, Ellie on Friday March 23rd.
Now a month later, the Carlow native has revealed how she’s finding life as a new mum.
Taking to Instagram, Kathryn shared a snap of her and Ellie cuddled up in bed, and wrote, “Taken at 5am pondering on whether I’ll ever get a full nights sleep again……herself, not so much.”
She continued, “The past month has just flown by as all you Mums told me it would. Ellie makes my heart burst with happiness every time I look at her little mush. She constantly amazes me.”
“Becoming a new Mum is pretty overwhelming. It’s exciting, terrifying, hilarious, daft, empowering, fulfilling and completely magical. And to think that this little human is relying on 2 people who are really just winging it.”
“With all the conflicting advise on feeding & sleeping routines ( yes, I know she shouldn’t be in my bed but she’s way too cute to throw her out!) I’ve figured out all you really need to nail this parenting thing is bundles of love… and lots of nappies,” she added.
Announcing the news last month, Kathryn wrote on Instagram, “Ms Ellie Mcloughlin couldn’t wait any longer to meet us. Our gorgeous girl was born Fri 23rd March @ 10.02am.”
“She is the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen and Mum and Dad are totally and utterly in love.”
