Kathryn Thomas reveals her popular show No Place Like Home ‘is not coming back this year’

Kathryn Thomas has revealed her popular show No Place Like Home “is not coming back this year”.

The travel series debuted on RTÉ in 2020, and saw the presenter and her daughter Ellie visit different locations around Ireland for staycations.

The four-part first series proved to be a huge hit with viewers, and returned for a second season last August.

Despite the success of the show, Kathryn has confirmed she will not be returning for another season this summer, as she will be enjoying some well-deserved maternity leave.

She told RSVP Live: “No Place Like Home is not coming back this year from what I know. I have decided to take my maternity leave.”

“I decided last year that if I was going back to work from Operation Transformation that I would go on maternity leave during the summer. While I loved going around Ireland in a campervan, it was still work. We had great fun, but we were still working.”

The mum-of-two explained: “I want to take a couple of weeks off and go away with the girls. I want six weeks without having to think about work at all.”

“I want to use that time with the girls because you will never get it back. When you are a freelancer and self-employed, you have to be strict with yourself and take time out. For me, that time will be this summer.”

A source in RTÉ told the publication: “It is too early to confirm anything in relation to the show.”

The Operation Transformation host welcomed her second child with her husband Padraig McLoughlin in October last year – a beautiful baby girl named Grace.

The couple, who tied the knot in August 2019, are also parents to a three-year-old daughter named Ellie.
