RTE presenter Kathryn Thomas has admitted the last 12 months have been extremely tough for herself and boyfriend Padraig McLoughlin.
Padraig’s mum sadly passed away from cancer recently, and Kathryn admitted although there has been sad times the couple are now happier than ever.
“We’re totally happy. It’s brilliant, it absolutely is,” she said.
“Last year was a great year for both of us in so many ways, and it’s been the toughest as well. You’re both able to help each other in a way that brings out the best in you”.

Speaking to Irish magazine Woman’s Way Kathryn tipped toed around the question of her career.
With talks of more radio work and an interest in TV presenting in the UK, Kathryn said nothing has been confirmed yet.
“No, none that’s been qualified or clarified yet…As I said there’s nothing that’s been confirmed but just lots of movement and lots of talking,” she explained.
