Laura Woods has announced that she will be replacing Karen Koster on Ireland AM, while she takes an extended break from the show.

The TV presenter announced the news on Instagram, by sharing a photo of her OOTD.

She captioned the post: “Morning! I’ve joined the @irelandamvmtv weekday gang for next few weeks while the girls take their hols.”

Karen announced she would be taking an extended break from Ireland AM last week, in order to spend more time with her family.

The 39-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the news, writing, “Last time I’ll be walking in here for a while. Taking annual leave followed by a chunk of parental leave.”

The mother-of-three then posted an image of herself and co-host Ciara Doherty on the social media platform.

“Don’t know which I’ll miss more, Ciara or her new fringe,” she joked.

The Irish presenter has three children with her husband John McGuire – 5-year-old Finn, 4-year-old JJ, and Eve, who is 1.

“Bye Bye Studio Corner!” she shared on Instagram, “Going on our summer staycation and taking some parental leave too so it’ll be Sept before I’m tonging my hair at 7am again.”

“Hoping I return to a show where all we talk about is how Covid is now gone & the kids are all back to school and loving it.”

“But for the next few weeks it’s time to forget about the alarm clock and just leave it to my kids to get me up at 6am.”
