'Just Married' – Dublin actor Emmett Scanlon ties the knot in New York

Actor Emmett Scanlon has married long time love Claire Cooper.

The pair wed in an intimate ceremony in New York on New Year’s Day, with stars in attendance including good friend Eoin Macken, Kevin J Ryan and Revenge star Barry Sloane.

Taking to Twitter to share his wedded joy, Emmett shared a photo of the couple as children, writing: “Just Married.”

The couple received dozens of well wishes online, with Revenge actor Barry saying the pair had a “one of a kind” wedding.

And Night Shift star Eoin Macken shared sweet Tweets about the nuptials, writing: “It’s 7am. Pretty sure we missed New Years eh BUT that was the most beautiful wedding ever…”

The party didn’t seem to end either, with the Merlin actor joining other members of the wedding party on an all-nighter in NYC.

Emmett, who has starred in TV shows such as Hollyoaks and The Fall, as well as box office smash hit Guardian’s of the Galaxy, proposed to his long-time love last Christmas.

The pair met on set of Hollyoaks, with Claire also starring in the soap.
