Johnny Vegas is to appeal a fine he was hit with after dropping a cigarette.
The comedian dropped his cigarette when he was finished with it and was given a £150 littering fee. Throwing cigarettes on the ground is a fineable offence in Doncaster, West Yorkshire where the incident happened. He was filming for Still Open All Hours with Sir David Jason and Tim Healy when a council worker spotted him drop the cigarette.
He tweeted the council to say, “Dear @MyDoncaster whilst my love for the good folk here will never diminish your £150 fine for responsibly placing a cig in a grid has now placed us at odds. Despite your enforcer’ s empty promises I did miss my train as a result & look forward to billing you respectively, cheers.”
Maia Dunphy recently announced that her relationship with the comedian came to an amicable end last year.
She announced the split last month saying, “We are telling people now because speculation is unhelpful at best, and dangerous at worst. As we think is obvious, we continue to fully support each other; there is no acrimony, no story and no one else involved.
The couple had been married since 2011.
