TV star Jennifer Maguire has opened about balancing her hectic work life and new role as a mother.
The Dubliner, who welcomed to her daughter Florence in March, returned to work just 10 weeks after the birth – admitting she wanted to get back to RTE so she wouldn’t be seen differently.
“I just wanted to get back to work. I didn’t want to be seen differently,” she said.

“I didn’t want to be seen as ‘That one that’s taken too much time off’ and it was a very important time for the show, we were very new.”
Meanwhile, the 2FM host revealed she felt guilty returning to work so soon after giving birth to her daughter.
“I do feel guilt, I do. I went back to work after 10 weeks and that was a decision I made before I had her,” she admitted.

“In hindsight, I would probably have taken a bit longer off. I love what I do and I love my baby and it’s like, ‘Aah!’ I want to do both,” she told the Herald.
“Somebody said to me, ‘You need another pair of hands, you need somebody to take Florence,’ and that’s the opposite of what I need, because I want to mind her all the time and work, giving 100pc.”
“You want to do both, so you just have to try and find a balance,” she added.
