Jedward superfan Catia Sousa has spent an astonishing €40,000 following Jedward around the world.
The 22-year-old first discovered the pop duo when they appeared on The X Factor back in 2009 – and she’s been a loyal fan ever since.
Catia, who has travelled to Los Angeles THREE times just to see Jedward perform, landed in Dublin last week to catch up with the twins before they appeared on RTÉ’s The Ray D’Arcy Show on Saturday night.
“They are so good. On Saturday, they spend from 3pm to 8.30pm just hanging with their fans,” she told the Irish Sun.
“They know my name and everything about me. It feels like we’re friends but obviously it’s not a full on friendship. We don’t have sleepovers or anything! But they take an interest in me and chat to me about themselves. They are just very normal and down to earth.”
Catia is a biomedical student at University of London, and plans to return to LA again next month to see John and Edward Grimes.
“I went to LA three times to see them. Twice last year and once in 2015. They have a condo there so they’re there a lot. Believe it or not, it was a failure because I didn’t see them. I contacted them to say I was there but I didn’t want to sound crazy. I just turned the trip in a holiday so it was OK.”
“This trip to Dublin cost me €400 and I spent close to €360 voting for them on Celebrity Big Brother. They’re really appreciative of the support,” she added.
