Jamie Heaslip admits he loved turning into an interior designer for new Dublin pub

Watch out Lawrence Leung Bowen, rugby star Jamie Heaslip is about to become the next big interior designer.

The Irish sports star has revealed he loved doing the interior design, while refurbishing his new Dublin pub – The Bridge 1859.

“I kind of really like the design part of it rather than the business side I suppose,” he admitted.

Jamie has teamed up with his ruby pals Rob and Dave Kearney and Sean O’Brien for the new venture.

With doors set to open at the Ballsbridge venue in the next few weeks.

“We’re just really focused on getting it right first before we announce we’re open. We don’t want to open up and it not be ready,” he revealed on the 2fm Nicky Byrne show.

“We should have an opening night in the next couple of weeks. We’re kind of finalizing dates and all that,” he revealed.

Jamie was co-hosting with Nicky on 2FM when he admitted a lot of work was needed on the bar.

“It was in a bit of a state when we got our hands on it so we’ve been doing a big refurbish and trying to make it – bring a bit of fresh life into the area,” he said.

The Bridge 1859 is stone’s throw away from the Aviva Stadium making it perfect for matches.
