Jake Carter has revealed how he planned the “nerve-wracking” proposal to DWTS Karen Byrne.
The couple met on Dancing with the Stars in 2018 and took home the Glitterball trophy, before they revealed their relationship during the summer.
Last week, the couple announced their engagement on Instagram, with Jake writing: ““Here’s to forever… 💫💍.”

Now, Jake has revealed the “nerve-wrecking” planning he did in the lead up to the emotional proposal.

He told followers: “I’m not gonna lie lads, this is the most nerve wracking thing I’ve ever had to do. I didn’t have a clue.”

“I found a jewellers online that had great reviews and went in on the Monday and basically bought the ring.”
“After looking at loads of different ones, I found the ring that I hoped she would like,” he confessed.
The 26-year-old then revealed that he kept the ring inside his guitar box, to avoid Karen finding it.
The musician revealed that he contacted the show’s production crew because he had always wanted to pop the question on the Dancing With the Stars dance floor, where the couple had first met.

Getting Karen onto the dance floor by herself was the next challenge, but Jake told his followers of his brilliant idea.
The DWTS producers made sure Karen was all dolled up and prepared for the camera by telling her she needed to be in the studio to shoot a VT for the final.
Jake then surprised Karen with their dog Lenny in the Dancing with the Stars studio.

He also included clips from their first meeting on set, including their win of the competition.
Surprising Karen, Jake said: “Seven years ago we met on this dance floor, and both of our lives changed forever, so I thought it was the perfect place to come back and ask you, will you marry me.”
A stunned Karen had no words, as Jake joked: “Well, say something. Is it a yes?”
Jake finished off the video for his followers, by adding: “That was job done, but now I guess we have to plan a wedding.”
He joked: “I really didn’t think about how quick start talking about weddings.”
