A host of Irish celebrities are in final talks to appear on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars early next year, including singer Jake Carter.

As well as Nathan’s Carter’s brother – GAA host Marty Morrissey is also said to be in talks, as well as Conor McGregor’s sister Erin, Brendan O’Carroll’s daughter Fiona, and Bridget and Eamon star Bernard O’Shea.

The show will return in 2018, and insiders are hoping that stars like Marty Morrissey will appeal to all audiences.

An insider told The Sun, “Ireland will go Marty mad next year as everybody loves Marty Morrissey. He is going to be the biggest star of Dancing With The Stars.”

“The choreographers and costume people will have a field day dreaming up crazy dances and outfits for Marty.”

The Sun has also reported that producers originally targeted country singer Nathan Carter for DWTS, but his touring schedule made it impossible for him to sign up.

However, the singer suggested that his 18-year-old brother Jake, who’s also a singer, take part.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor’s sister Erin has been tipped to take part in the show. The 34-year-old mother of two has a huge social media following, and has previously competed as a bodybuilder and fitness model.

Another name in the mix is Fiona O’Carroll, who plays Agnes’ daughter Maria in hit comedy series Mrs Brown’s Boys.

As well as that, comedian and Bridget and Eamon star Bernard O’Shea could be set to hit the dance floor – however, it may prove difficult as he co-host’s 2fm’s Breakfast Republic from 7am every weekday morning.

It’s also been reported that the professional dancers who took part in the first season of the show have been re-hired for the second series, including Thalia Heffernan’s boyfriend Ryan McShane, who she met while competing on the show last year.

RTÉ are pulling out all the stops to secure a strong line-up for DWTS, as TV3 will air Ireland’s Got Talent on Saturdays early next year.
