Irish band The Rua tipped for Eurovision success – 50 years after their aunt won the contest

Will our luck FINALLY change?

Irish band The Rua have been tipped to represent Ireland at the Eurovision in 2020.

The band is made up of three siblings, Roseanna, Alanna and Jonathan Brown, and they already have a strong connection to the contest.

Back in 1970, their aunt Dana (Rosemary Scallon) won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland with her song ‘All Kinds Of Everything’.

A source told the Irish Sun: “RTE got a really great response to Eurovision entries. There’s every chance that Ireland could top the juries in Holland again on the anniversary of Dana’s first win there for Ireland.”

“There would be a huge media interest in Dana’s nephews and nieces taking her place exactly 50 years later and representing Ireland at Eurovision.”

RTÉ are set to select Ireland’s Eurovision entry for 2020 in the next ten days, and Dana has backed her “hugely talented” nieces and nephew.

The family band have just finished supporting Westlife on tour, and are currently celebrating their latest single entering the US Billboard Top 50.

On this week’s episode of The Gosscast; Goss.ie Founder Ali Ryan sits down with Goss.ie Editor Kendra Becker to discuss the latest with the Kardashian-Jenner clan and the now infamous Meghan Markle and Prince Harry documentary.
