Irish Apprentice star reveals he’s in recovery after brain surgery

Dillon St Paul, who appeared on BBC’s The Apprentice last year, has revealed that he is currently in recovery after having emergency brain surgery to remove a tumour.

The Irish reality star revealed the harrowing details of his experience in a blog post, in which he admitted that his recovery has been “a journey of pain and sorrow unlike anything I’ve ever experienced” since undergoing surgery last week.

The Limerick native told how he had a seizure while in work at the Stellar magazine office two weeks ago, where he was working alongside editor Vicki Notaro when he said a “strange sensation” came over him and “the single most terrifying thing you can ever imagine” happened him.

After the seizure “passed”, Dillon was rushed to the hospital, and following a CT scan and an MRI, a low-grade glioma tumour “located on the right side of my brain in an area I was was told was ‘easily operable'” was found.

Dillon also explained just how bad the pain was, admitting that he “genuinely felt like I was dying”.

Ending his post, Dillon wrote, “I just wanted to share with the world what exactly has happened to me and to offer hope to anyone experiencing something similar. I had brain surgery and I survived and so can you – you won’t be damaged or weird or ‘odd’ afterwards and you will smile again.”

“Your family and your partner will be your heroes and I hope, like me you too have a ‘Vicki’ if you have the unpleasant experience of your first seizure. I thought The Apprentice was the hardest thing I’d ever done and now that seems ridiculous – it was just a TV show with some really mean people in a boardroom. Now I know life is too short, so be nice!” he added.
