Irish actress Sarah Greene reveals she’s become a mum after quietly welcoming her first child

Sarah Greene has revealed she’s become a mum, after quietly welcoming her first child.

The 36-year-old fell pregnant last year, and has since welcomed a baby boy with her musician boyfriend, who hails from Northern Ireland.

During an interview with iNews, the Irish actress said she can’t wait to introduce their newborn son to her family.

“The last year has been life-changing in the best possible way, although we haven’t seen my family for months,” she said.

“We’ve had lovely bonding time, the three of us getting to know each other, but I can’t wait to show [our son] off a bit now.”

The Cork native is currently living in Belfast, where she filmed her new Channel 4 comedy series Frank of Ireland with Domhnall and Brian Gleeson.

Production on the series was shut down last March due to the coronavirus pandemic, and by the time they resumed filming in September – Sarah was five months pregnant.

Sarah explained: “That last week [of filming] was a bit of a blur – I remember waddling off set at the end of one day and Domhnall going, ‘Oh my God, you are SO pregnant…’

“The costume girls did an amazing job of widening all the dresses because I was huge. I was just relieved we got to finish it, to be honest.”

“You couldn’t mix with anybody. I was tested every couple of days and it all became a lot more serious. Still great craic, but the on-set vibe had definitely changed.”

While she’s enjoying her time at home with her new baby, Sarah will return to work in June as she’s set to film “a really black comedy” for TV.

The 36-year-old also teased she has “a couple of cool indie films” lined up for next year, before adding: “I’ve got plenty on.”
