Ger Treacy has announced she’s expecting her first child with her husband Bernard O’Toole.
The Ireland AM presenter and Virgin Media sports reporter, who tied the knot in 2016, will welcome their bundle of joy later this year.
Speaking to RSVP Live, Ger gushed: “We are both absolutely over the moon, we’re so extremely grateful and feel so lucky to be expecting. We’re really on cloud nine and both so excited.”
The broadcaster said she’s feeling “great”, but admitted she struggled with extreme morning sickness in the early stages of her pregnancy.
“I was really sick with hyperemesis for the first few months of the pregnancy but thankfully that stage seems to have eased now and I’m feeling great and it will be all worth it,” she said.
“We haven’t found out the sex of the baby, we’re going to leave it as a Christmas surprise.”
“There are few surprises in life and as long as the baby is healthy and safe that’s all that matters.”
The mum-to-be added: “Our family, friends and work colleagues are so excited about the news.”
“We have been overwhelmed and totally blown away by the love, good wishes and support from everyone.”
