Daithi O’Sé has been confirmed to host the Rose of Tralee once again.
The Kerry man has previously hosted the contest seven times before, meaning that this will be his eighth time.
Last year saw a strange thing happen at the event, when a protester stormed the stage where Daithi was talking to Cavan Rose Lisa Reilly.
A man dressed as a priest went onto the stage and then began shouting in protest on behalf of fathers’ rights organisation Fathers4Justice.

The 40-year-old first said that he thought the man was just a camera man, but then he thought it was a set-up.
He told Ryan Tubridy, “I didn’t take any notice of it – ‘This is the fella with the Steadicam coming up onstage’.
“And then I saw this person who was something like he was out of D’Unbelievables. It was out of my corner eye and I said, ‘Why didn’t they tell me about this?
“I can roll with all these jokes; I can roll with the punches. I’m going to have to entertain this person now’.”
