Homesick Conor McGregor reveals he can't wait to return to Ireland

Conor McGregor seems to be suffering from homesickness as he admitted he hasn’t been home since winning his world title.

The UFC champion won the title in his victory over Chad Mendes in Las Vegas last month and revealed he’s looking forward to returning to Ireland.

The MMA fighter took to social media to note his lengthy stay outside of the Emerald Isle.

“Tomorrow is the final day of filming for The Ultimate Fighter. I have still not been home since winning my World Title,” he said.

“The sane mind could never understand the dedication and the sacrifice it takes to succeed in this business,” he wrote.

The Crumlin native previously divulged that he can’t wait to return home so he can raise his winners belt proudly.

“I haven’t anything planned yet but make no mistake about it, I am going to head straight back to my country and raise that belt,” he said.

“It’s going to be a proud day for my nation, my team and everyone who has been supporting me. It’s something that’s giving me goosebumps right now just thinking about it. I look forward to that moment,” he told The Irish Independent.

Conor has promised a dream homecoming spectacular at Croke Park if he defeats Brazilian fighter Aldo in December.

“We could do a stadium no problem. o a stadium no problem. “I’m open. The stadium will happen, make no mistake about that,” he said.

Meanwhile, UFC president Dana White insisted that the GAA stadium would be a “tough place to pull off”.

“I believe that we can do anything we wanna do. “If we’re determined enough to get it done, we can get it done. Croke Park is a tough place to pull off, but we are determined to do it.”
