Happy Birthday Michael Fassbender! 5 reasons we LOVE the Kerry man

Today marks Michael Fassbender’s 38 birthday, although the actor only came into the spotlight in 2008 with hit movie Hunger, we feel like we’ve known him forever.

Here’s five reasons we love the birthday boy.

1. THAT smile

The Irish Film & Television Academy awards 2014

He’s already a perfect fit in Hollywood with his Oscar nomination and string of hit movies, but nothing beats his Hollywood smile.

The Kerry man is full of charisma on the red carpet, and while he mostly delves into serious roles, he’s a very cheerful person in real life.

Quite a difference from his roles in 12 Years A Slave and Hunger, Michael loves flashing his big grin.

2. His accent

While he will always claim his as our own, Michael was actually born in Germany, with a German father.

Thankfully his mum is from Kerry so brought the actor here to grow up, but it gave Michael a lovely accent.

Speaking fluent German (seen in X Men) as well, his accent is seriously sexy.

3. His crown jewels

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, everyone has seen and enjoyed Michael’s legendary package.

Making it’s debut in the sexually explicit movie Shame, Michael walked around naked for most of the movie.

And we’re not the only one who enjoyed the view, George Clooney commented on the size of his crown jewels at the Golden Globes.

4. His dating life

Michael Fassbender

He definitely is Ireland’s hottest bachelor, although recording to reports he’s dating actress Alicia Vikander.

The pair starred in his new movie Slow West together, but before Alicia Michael has been linked to some serious stunners.

Naomi Campbell was definitely our favourite and then the super stylish Lupita Nyong’o, and then there was Danny Boyle’s ex girlfriend Rosario Dawson.

We feel like he’ll be back on the market again soon, so watch out fashionistas.

5. He’s just a really lovely guy

It’s not often you can say that a celebrity it really easy to deal with, but Michael Fassbender always has been.

I’ve been lucky enough to interview the actor three times now, and each time he was more than sweet.

He’s always chatty and happy to answer questions and always gives the personal touch.

The last time we met I even got to give him a sneaky kiss, and when I asked him what he was going to do to celebrate his IFTA win he said:

“Well I’m here right now, celebrating with you.”
