Greg O’Shea’s family reveal they DIDN’T know he was entering Love Island

Irish rugby player Greg O’Shea was revealed as one of last night’s trio of last-minute bombshells to enter the Love Island villa.

The rugby pro has clearly been keeping an eye on the current season of the show, telling ITV2 that Maura has taken his fancy.

However, while Greg’s entry has been a secret to the islanders up until now, it was also a huge surprise to his family.

Greg’s sister Laura told The Limerick Leader that she and her family did not know he was going to be on the TV show until last night.

“It was a shock to say the least!” she said.

“We found out with everybody else, he kept it a secret the whole time, so the shock was very large in our house last night in Corbally.”

Laura revealed that Greg flew straight to the villa from Paris, where he was training with his rugby team.

“He took off to Majorca from Paris, we got a few weird requests for a couple of pairs of shorts and sunglasses. We thought he may have met a girl in Paris – he was packing a bag for Majorca!” she exclaimed.

Laura told TodayFM that she and her family have not been following the show this season.

“We haven’t been following it in our house, so we’ve been catching up for tonight when it all kicks off,” she said.

“A lot of people thought it was a joke, to be fair. When we saw his phone was off we realised it was real.”

Greg is due to enter the villa tonight – and he plans to make a bee-line for fellow Irish native Maura.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm.
