Graham Norton tipped as the favourite to host reboot of hit dating show

Blind Date is set to make a television comeback after over 13 years off air, and Graham Norton is the hot favourite to host the show.

Fans hope the Cork man will take over from the late Cilla Black, who sadly passed away back in 2015, as she hosted the popular dating show for 18 years on ITV before it came to an end in 2003.

Now, Channel 5 are planning a revamped version of the show, and there’s plenty of popular presenters tipped to front the show – but Graham is winning by a long shot.

A source told The Sun, “Blind Date is the original dating show and its huge news to bring it back.”

“It’s a classic format that will be rebooted to make it young, sexy and modern. Expect sparks to fly. In an age of Tinder, you have got to earn the right to love on this show.”

The revamped show will be produced by So Television, the same company behind BBC’s The Graham Norton Show.

So far, Graham is the bookies favourite to host the series, with odds at 2/1.

Meanwhile, Big Brother host Emma Willis is at 4/1, Rylan Clarke 5/1, Davina McCall 10/1, Holly Willoughby 8/1, Leigh Francis 12/1 and Helen Skelton 16/1.

The show’s original format saw three people of the same sex being introduced to the audience. They were then asked a number of questions by a contestant of the opposite sex who was hidden behind a wall. The contestant would then pick one of the three to go on a date with.
