Georgie Crawford overwhelmed by messages of support following emotional Late Late appearance

She appeared on the show alongside two other cancer survivors

Georgie Crawford is feeling overwhelmed by the supportive messages she’s received, following her appearance on The Late Late Show on Friday night.

The 98FM news anchor was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2017, and was given the all clear in late 2018 after receiving treatment.

Georgie appeared on The Late Late Show last night alongside fellow cancer survivors Shannen Joyce and Mary Cullen to urge women all over the country to check themselves regularly.

Their appearance on the show was praised online, and many people felt “inspired” by their individual stories.

Taking to Instagram today, Georgie posted a sweet photo of her hugging her husband Jamie backstage in RTÉ.

She captioned the post: “This was taken seconds after we came off stage last night. Jamie is my absolute soul mate, I feel so lucky everyday to have him by my side through the good days and bad. And my mum and joe front and centre in the audience.”

“Thanks for all the amazing messages since last night. They’ve brought me to tears this morning. Thank you @dannerfarrelly for capturing this moment #digdeep.”

During her appearance on the show, Georgie told host Ryan Tubridy: “I was speaking to somebody who had cancer recently and he looked me in the eye and he said, ‘You’ve got to dig deep.'”

“When he said that to me, I burst out crying because that’s exactly what it is. You’ve got to dig deep.”

“You’re digging to stay positive, to get up everyday to face the world, I mean I watched this show lying on my couch with no hair, wondering if I would see this time next year,” she continued.

“Wondering if I could exercise, and last week I ran 10K with my husband, never exercised before cancer. It opens up a world of positivity to you if you can get through it and I feel very blessed to have my life back.”
